TOPIC: The electronic logging device (ELD)mandate, and other economic and regulatory forces shaping transportation’s near future.

Jeff Tucker is third generation CEO of Tucker Company Worldwide, America’s oldest privately held freight brokerage. Jeff and brother Jim co-founded and operate QualifiedCarriers.com, a risk management and compliance tool for shippers who use motor carriers. The firms are based in Haddonfield, NJ.

Jeff is immediate past chairman of the board of directors for the Transportation Intermediaries Association (“TIA”), a national trade association of 1,750 member companies, based in Washington, DC. Jeff chairs the committee for, and has co-authored each edition of, TIA’s “Carrier Selection Framework” which provides guidance on selection of safe motor carriers.  Jeff has testified before Congress on truck safety matters, and was named by a USDOT Administrator to a special committee to advise USDOT on highway safety matters. He is a board of directors member for the largest shipper organization, the National Industrial Transportation League, and chairs its Highway Transportation Committee.

His thoughts and commentaries appear in Journal of Commerce, Logistics Management, Transport Topics, Defense Transportation Journal, American Journal of Transportation, Logistics Journal and Wall Street Journal. 

Jeff is married to Heather Gallagher Tucker, an attorney and law clerk to the Honorable Judge John William Ditter, Jr., of the U.S. District court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. Jeff and Heather have four children, ages 15, 13, 10 and 8.

Jeff is immediate past chairman of the board of trustees for Fellowship House of South Camden, a charitable organization providing after school and summer programs for Camden’s youth. Jeff is a longtime advocate and supporter of the Alzheimer Association, Delaware Valley Chapter, and is a member of the Rotary Club of Haddonfield.
