    I wanted to make you aware of an event that I am on the organizing board for.

    TransportationCamp Philadelphia will bring together 200 + leading and up-and-coming thinkers and doers in surface transportation and technology from all over the U.S. and other countries. It is a high-energy, exciting day of presentations, panels, and networking opportunities, all created and led by the participants themselves. Through the new, engaging unconference model, the TransportationCamp fosters the sharing of innovative ideas that focus on technology, new forms of mobility, and moving more people in fewer vehicles.  In the unconference format the participants themselves propose and lead sessions. This ensures topics of interest to the transportation community, a high level of engagement by participants, and great variety of issues covered. The first TransportationCamps were held in New York City and San Francisco in 2011 and then in Washington, D.C., in 2012, where it has taken place every year since.

    TransportationCamp is positioned as “where technology meets transportation”. Transportation of people and product is an issue of increasing importance with direct impacts on economic strength, environmental sustainability and social equity. Advances in technology such as mobile computing, open source software and APIs, spatial analysis and others presents an opportunity to improve mobility more immediately and at a lower cost than has been possible in the past. TransportationCamp raises awareness of this emerging opportunity and builds connections between disparate innovators in diverse fields including public administration, transportation operations, transportation planning,  information design and software engineering.

    TransportationCamps have been held around the country, however this is the first time for Philadelphia. It is being held at Drexel University on April 14th and we expect more than 200 attendees. Here is the link to photos from the previous TransportationCamp at NYC for a flavor of the day:

    Dear Fellow Supply Chain and Logistics Colleague:

    My name is Eugene Kattak and I am a Supply Management professional.  As a member of the faculty of Rowan University’s Rohrer College of Business (RCB), I am currently an instructor within the Supply Chain and Logistics program.

    In partnership with campus Supply Management organizations, RCB will host our first ever
    Supply Chain & Logistics Industry Night on Tuesday, April 3rd from 5:30pm – 7:30 pm in the Rohrer College of Business. This event will allow students pursuing a Supply Chain degree to hear from like-minded professionals on the tools and tips necessary for launching successful Supply Chain and Logistics careers.

    RCB invites you to join a diverse group of professionals representing various industries within Supply Chain, to join us and speak with our students.     Faculty-of-Practice – Supply Chain and Logistics

    Lehigh University’s Department of Management seeks to fill a full-time professor of practice position in supply chain management beginning January 2018. This is a non-tenure track, full time, fixed term, renewable position. Candidates must be able to teach supply-chain and operations management related courses, at the undergraduate and graduate level. The selected candidate is expected to be highly engaged and committed member of the Department and will be involved in undergraduate and graduate teaching, curriculum development, student mentoring and department service assigned by the department chair. The standard teaching schedule is 4 courses per academic semester (Fall and Spring). The candidate is also expected to actively participate in Lehigh University’s Center for Supply Chain Research, which fosters industry support and research on supply chain management. Interested candidates must possess at least a completed Master’s degree and extensive supply chain and operations management industry experience. Teaching experience at the collegiate level is preferred. Lehigh University is focused on providing excellence in undergraduate and graduate education.

    The undergraduate business program was ranked 24th in the nation in 2016 and noted as a “top 10 school to watch in 2017” by Poets & Quants. The Flex MBA program was ranked as 20th in the nation by U.S. News & World Report.
